His Princess

Chapter 6: The Royal Butler

“Without your consent?!” King Lucifer replied, his terrible voice bounced with surprise. The Crow nodded, a bit caught off guard by his father’s reaction.

“Do you mean to say that this sort of thing has never happened?” King Lucifer grumbled an okay.

“The only thing to do now is fill the contract, Corvus. Take Felis with you and the Mating Ceremony will take place as soon as you two return. You may leave. I’ll assemble the guards to assure that your journey between Hell and Earth goes smoothly. It would be a pity if my favorite son got caught floating somewhere in The Spiritual Realm on the outskirts of Heaven.” The Crow bowed quickly before leaving. As soon as he was clear of his father’s private wing, he ran with demonic speed to The Feline’s room.

xXx

The Feline was unable to sleep. Her waist-down felt like it was on fire, the hot wax was certainly unkind to her. It seemed no matter which way she lay, it would only burn more. She cursed The Crow in her head for requiring smooth legs…and other areas. The Feline turned over in her bed once more before she decided that trying to sleep was useless. She stood from bed and went to sit on one of the chairs, besides she didn’t need sleep.

The room was the epitome of guest rooms. It was prim and proper and lacked personal items. If the bed wasn’t unmade, no one would be able to tell that she was staying here. Well, not unless they looked at the black monstrosity of a Ceremonial Gown on the armoire. She gazed upon it, happy that she had the opportunity to wear something so beautiful. She shook her head as she reminded herself why she was wearing that beautiful gown. She placed her head in her hands and willed herself not to cry for the second time that day. Was this really what her existence was for? To provide the prince children and to be his comfort? What about her? Who was to be her comfort? She liked The Crow, but not enough to devote her very existence to him. She stood, abruptly. She would be strong, she would not think of herself, and she would most definitely not betray King Lucifer. As much as it hurt her, she could not change anything. She walked up to the beautiful gown and ran her fingers over it, feeling the satin material glide through her fingers. She would wear it with pride. She would stay strong until the end. She would keep the prince happy, like a good princess should. She would be his. There was a brisk knock at the door. The Feline was ripped from her thoughts.

“Kitten! Open the door!” She tilted her head in confusion.

“You can’t see me, you said so yourself!” On the other side of the door, The Crow rolled his eyes.

“Let me in and I’ll explain.” The Feline opened the door, disregarding the short night gown she wore. “Get dressed, in anything but pajamas. I’ll explain as you dress.” The Feline changed into the only dress, besides the Ceremonial Gown, that was in her room. It was the same baby blue gown she had been wearing earlier that day. As she made her way to the bathroom to change, The Crow began to speak.

“I’ve been summoned without my consent, Kitten. We’re going to fulfill a contract. I’m not sure how long it will take and we have to postpone the Mating Ceremony.” The Feline stood still, nearly letting the dress fall. She would have more time. More time before she was bound to him. She came out of the bathroom, her dress barely covering her breasts.

“I understand, it’s okay. May you lace this up please?” The Crow nodded slowly, a bit surprised at the calm in her voice. “I’m sure everything will work out for the best, Crow.” He laced up the dress silently, tying perfect little bows.

“Let’s go, Kitten. He’ll be waking up any minute. I guess we’ll get to see those sunsets sooner rather than later.” He grabbed her hand and ran to the main entrance of the palace. Through the many windows, The Feline could see that it was pitch black outside. It was always dark in Hell, but the nights were worse. It was as dark as The Crow’s hair outside. She shook her head, casting away thoughts of his shiny black locks. The Crow opened the main door and was greeted by a group of guards. At the front of the guards, The Crow’s hydra butler, Ceterum, stood. “Ceterum, why are you here?”

“As your personal butler, it is my duty to attend to all your needs, your Highness. This would be one of them.” The hydra demon bowed before his master. One of the guards spoke out.

“Prince Corvus, we should get going. If we move quickly, we can make it to the Cliffs before daybreak.”

“My father suggests that I take you all as escorts, but I think it will be better if we travel alone. I’ll make it there faster with my wings.”

                “But, your High—”

“I’m ordering you to return to the palace and go back to your normal duties.” The Feline watched as the group of guards and Ceterum dropped to one knee, all the while speaking one phrase boldly: “Yes, your Highness.” They all dispersed quickly. The Crow looked down at his attire which consisted of slippers and blue pajamas. “What a pity, these are my favorite pajamas.” He sighed as he unsheathed his large, feathery wings, tearing two symmetrical holes in his pajama shirt. “How would like me to carry you, Kitten.” The Feline blushed, expecting that he’d just ask her to hop on rather than ask her how he should hold her.

“Any way is fine, Crow.” He nodded and smiled.

“Then I’ll carry you this way.” He walked up to her, scarlet eyes gleaming with mischief.

“What way?” He placed his hands on her back and tossed her in the air a few feet, only for her to land in his arms bridal style. “Perhaps I should’ve suggested piggybacking? I didn’t necessarily want to be thrown in the air.

“You said any way was fine, I chose this way.” She rolled her eyes. He ascended into the air, holding her very close to his chest. She believed that it wasn’t for safety purposes only. He began to take off, his enormous wings flapping fiercely. “You’ve been to the Cliffs before, right? This isn’t your first contract?” The Feline shook her head.

“No, I started contracts rather early. I started when I was fifty years old and I’m almost a thousand, like you. My parents started me early. I’ve jumped the Cliffs many times.” The Cliffs were like the elevator to Earth in Hell. For obvious reasons, demons couldn’t travel to Heaven, but they found a way to quench their hunger for souls with the Cliffs. Jumping off of these particular Cliffs was how someone would fall up. When jumping, one feels the sensation of being sucked up a vacuum rather than freefalling, although it still looks like one is falling normally.

“I see. I’ve chosen an experienced woman.” He continued flying quickly to the outskirts of Hell. “Tell me, Kitten, if you’ve been doing contracts since you were fifty, how did you manage to remain a maiden? Surely, you’ve met someone who’s piqued your interest. You can run into a lot of…different demons on Earth. Not that I like the idea of you being with anyone else, I’m just curious.”

“Well, there’s not much to tell. Men never seemed to interest me. They were just colleagues or friends.”

“You prefer…women?” The Crow slowed a little, a bit caught off-guard. The Feline smacked him upside the head.

“No!! Let me rephrase that. Romance never interested me. I’m not gay, you stupid bird!” The Crow chuckled.

“I’m sorry, Kitten, it just…nevermind.” She rolled her eyes.

“Get your head out the gutter, you nasty pervert!”

“I said sorry!” The Crow continued chuckling. “Let me ask you another thing, why don’t you ask me questions? Questions are the best way to learn things about others. Seeing how we are in, or are going to be in, an intimate relationship, you should ask me some questions.” The Feline shrugged, or tried to at least.

“I don’t really have any questions. I guess…what’s your favorite color?”

“Really, Kitten? We are to spend an eternity together and you ask what my favorite color is? Black. Yours?”

                “(F/c). Do you like lemonade?”

“Yes…how about you try asking some questions with depth?”

                “Ooh! I have one!”

                “Ask away.”

“What do you want most in your existence? That’s got depth.”

“Not really. The answer is simple. You. I want you.” The Feline blushed.

“Okay. I’ll ask a different question. Who’s your best friend?”

“I don’t really have friends, I have brothers and sisters. If I had to choose, probably you.”

“Okay. Why am I the answer to all these questions?”

“Because, it’s true. I won’t lie to you to make you feel better. If I lied to my mate, what kind of mate would I be?”

                “Uh, a bad one?”

“Yes.” He descended as they reached the Cliffs. They were jagged and steep and their color was rusted red. “Now, you know how contracts work. The boy did not tell me his name, but I know it. His name is Ciel Phantomhive. His wish is for me, excuse me, us to make the people who hurt him and his parents suffer the same pain, which was extreme. When we get to Earth, we’ll arrive in the place he feels safest at. He’ll be asleep.”

“Wait. What about appearing to him in our true forms? We can’t see each other in our true forms yet.”

“We won’t appear to him in our true forms. We can’t. We’ll have to do everything in our human forms.” The Feline nodded. The Crow extended his hand to her. “Ready, my lovely kitty?”

“Yeah, sure thing, Crow.” The Crow groaned.

“I’m trying to be romantic and dramatic, Kitten.”

“The feeling is not reciprocated.” He rolled his eyes and snatched her hand.

“On the count of three—” The Feline pulled him into the Cliffs before he could start counting and the suction of the backwards falling began.

xXx

The pair landed in a large area of land. Directly in front of them was at least an acre of burnt wood and ash. The Feline raised her brow.

                “What happened?”

“I can’t pick up anything about him until the contract seal is placed. I didn’t have time at the moment.”

“The whole way you were summoned doesn’t make sense. It’s going to be weird.” The Feline saw a form lying in a grass field. He was a slender boy with dark blue hair. The Feline began to walk towards him when The Crow stopped her.

“He hasn’t heard your voice, he’ll be alarmed.” She nodded and he led the way, still clad in his pajamas. He tapped the boy on the back and he sprung up instantly. “My apologies, master, we cannot appear to you in our true forms.”

“That’s all right. I’m sure I don’t want to see your true form anyway. Is this the girl you were talking about?”

“Yes, this is my mate, The Feline. Before you can make any orders, we must place our contract seals on you. The more visible the seal, the more powerful the order.” The boy nodded.

                “In my eye.”

“Are you sure?” The Feline asked.

“Yes.” The Crow lifted his finger and touched the boy’s eye. A pentagram formed in his eye. The Feline then moved to place her seal.

“Do you want them both in your eyes?” The Feline asked.

“Is it possible to place your seal in the same eye?” The Feline looked at The Crow and he nodded.

“Yes,” he said. “We can interlock them.” The Feline then lifted her black-nailed finger and placed her seal just over The Crow’s.

“Now you may make orders, master.” The Feline bowed before her new master.

“My first order is for you two to rebuild my manor.”

“What do you wish to name us, master?” The Feline asked.

“I guess…you will be _____ ______.” He glanced at The Crow. “You will be Sebastian. Yes, Sebastian Michaelis. Since this is the human world, you should consider yourselves engaged.”

“And what are our titles, master?” The Crow asked.

“You will be my butler, and you my maid. Sebastian, I order you to rebuild my manor and _____, I order you to stay with me and find Tanaka.” The replied in sync:

                “Yes, my lord.”

Okay, here's chapter six! I will be pretty inactive for the next two weeks, I have band camp! Here you go!
